Charred Basil Mezcal Sour
Ingridents:

1.5 oz mezcal
-
0.5 oz reposado tequila (adds warmth + depth)
-
0.75 oz fresh lemon juice
-
0.5 oz agave syrup
-
4–5 fresh basil leaves
-
2 dashes Angostura bitters
-
0.5 oz egg white (or aquafaba for vegan)
Instructions
Lightly torch or bruise the basil (quick flame or slap to release oils). Add basil, mezcal, tequila, lemon, agave, egg white, and bitters to shaker. Dry shake (no ice) hard for 10–15 seconds to build foam. Add ice and shake again until cold. Double strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a lightly charred basil leaf or a few drops of bitters on the foam.
